Together We Are Stronger

Hey, Kids!

Coach Heather suggested the other day that we start a blog where we could easily find coaching related documents and share ideas to help us grow our BeachBody coaching business.

This blog is, as the name suggests, a collective effort. There is no doubt about it: multiple heads are better than one. By helping each other, we help ourselves grow.

If you have any ideas or documents, please send Heather or myself your contributions! Together, we are stronger.

Here's to building our business and to our success!

Coaching Strategies--Minutes from October 6, 2008 Call

Coaches Conference Call
Monday, October 6th, 8:00pm ET

Attendees:

Barbie
Josh
Donna
Heather
Randy
Melisa

The purpose of this meeting was for coaches to share ideas and strategies that they are trying out.

Donna:
o Supermarket Flyer – trying to bundle my “women’s ice hockey” theme with Beachbody. Will hang these flyers in local supermarkets, store 24’s, pizza shops, hockey rinks (where ever they’ll let me).

o PPT slide show of my routine! I created this silly little thing to bring humor into creating a workout routine. It so important to be consistent, so my reasoning was if I had my own little personalized space with things that got me pumped (pictures of myself huffing and puffing playing hockey, size 6/8 business suits, bikini’s, and my favorite: BRING IT and Decide – Commit – Succeed. I also added my hockey team’s record for more inspiration (hoping to go undefeated this year).

o Weight Loss Group. I have started a “weight loss group” at my work. It was easy because we used to have Weight Watcher’s at Work program here. Once they stopped doing it (no one wanted the responsibility of coordinating with Weight Watchers), I thought, why not continue meeting weekly, but just to share weight loss/fitness goals. I used all the people who had belong to WW, so that was my “excuse” for including them – not that I was insinuating they “needed to drop weight”. Turns out, this has mushroomed from 12 people to 35! I keep talking it up with everyone. Wearing my Beachbody Pin on my work badge also get’s people asking.

• Melisa
o Talked about not having luck talking about the program outside of her circles.
o The threads weren’t attracting many people.
o Perhaps fliers would work

Barbie Thoughts: The threads won’t work for everyone. But, patience is key and the willingness to try different things. When keeping a thread, show up daily, even if it feels that you’re sometimes talking to yourself.

• Barbie’s thought was when “selling” BB, stay as real as you are, be yourself.

Barbie thought: People want to know that they are dealing with real people, not with commercial print. Let your personality come across in all you do. “I’ve lost 24 lbs with Slim in 6. I can help you get there” versus, “Get the Body You’ve always dreamed of!” only.

OTHER IDEAS:

• Ideas for targeting potential coaches:
o Single moms thread idea
o Personal Trainers—talk to personal trainers. This has worked for Josh.
o Weight Loss/Health Center people

• Could be partner with Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. If they will allow us, go for it. TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Successfully) someone mentioned this organization.

• Pairing up with other coaches is a great strategy. Bouncing ideas off each other and sharing what works – don’t recreate the wheel!

• Talked about getting a real website address versus blogspot.com (godaddy.com, pretend box website?)
