A special note in your Christmas Cards!

Ok, so the excitement has me so motivated these days.  I'm full of ideas, I hope you all are too!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we are all starting to think Christmas!  

Here is an idea that came up during the Philly Event from Carl himself.

He said as you are writing your Christmas cards to mail out this year, include a little note about you and your business!  It's a great and easy way to spread the word, get people to your website (remember Beacbbody gave you your own website!).  In with your cards, you can put a note- why not make your gift to me, to buy one of my programs for yourself, this is to give the gift of good health to yourself for 2009!  Ok, so wording it must be a little nicer, but you get the point.  I was thinking of creating a nice little postcard with some of the products, Beachbody logo on the front, and a little note about me, my website,... on the back?  Do I care if I am crazy or tacky?  No!  Most of my family knows I am crazy and those that barely know me that I send cards too, who cares.  Also, maybe your parents, friends,... can throw a couple of you letters/cards inside their Christmas card for you?  Never huts to ask?  What will it cost you, just the time to create the letter and little money to print up your letter!  Staples is like $0.49 for color copies, get the rewards program, and you get points for future prints.  I'm sure others can find deals on printing costs!

Oh yeah, and why not customize the cards a little.  Your aunt has diabetes, talk about Kathy Smith Type 2!  Your cousin may e more into Turbo Jam, gear it to that.  Maybe make up a few postcards and just choose the one that is more for them.  Once you do one, its easy to tweak them!

How do I create postcards?  I just use Pages on my Mac.  It has post card templates set up!  I believe Word for PC's does as well!  It really is quit simple!

I also heard someone on the coaching forum for Team Genesis, link below, who had another great idea about this!  They said, take that letter you are sending along with your Christmas card, put it in an envelope that states on the outside "Only open if you want to get healthy for 2009".  The it sparks their interest to open the envelope and learn more?

Brochure with gift baskets

 Another idea:

I created some brochures to hand out.  I made a little "take away gift" basket and added my brochure to the basket.  My idea was get a small basket, I'm talking cheap $3 or so.  I then went to a craft store (Micheal's) and looked in the wedding aisle for the party favors.  I wanted to see what was available that would work to create a little take away gift.  I found these cute little bags with green leaves on it.  Not much bigger then a business card.  I bought those along with a few baskets.  I then went to the grocery store and bough green tea bags.  I created a little bag w/ a few green teas, a business card and a small note stating the benefits of green tea and how it can help you lose weight.  I combined all this nicely in my basket with my brochure.  My basket only holds about 10 of these little gifts, so not going out of my way.  Now, my goal is to take these to places and see if they will let me put them on the counter.  Then just go back in a few days and grab the basket or restock it.  I decided my first basket would go to the little restaurant I stop by every day for lunch.  They have a small counter just inside the door.  The lady was thrilled to help!  She let me put it right there.  I'll have to create a new basket and take a picture to share with you all.  But, now if everyone takes 1 bag that's 10 cards I gave a way.  The whole thing costs a few bucks per bag to create (maybe $2-3).   Maybe  few more took brochures!  Catch my drift, my name is out there!  There are other things you can add to your gift bag?  Tape measures, candles, protein bars the list is endless!

I also carry about 5 or so brochures with me when I go into grocery stores where I would post the flyers from my previous post.  Most grocery stores have community bulletin board, but they also have slots for brochures.  So, not only do I post a flyer, I add a few brochures!

I just wanted to share an idea that I am doing this week to help promote my website!  Its a way to get my name out and about.  I have created fun flyers that I can post in grocery stores, community bulletin boards,....  THey are just little flyers with a tear- away for my website.

I'll try and update everyone on how this goes after I send today posting them in different places.  I already have some on community boards, in grocery stores.  I'll possibly try stuff like the Y, maybe a church board, the library?  I'll have to see what's around and available?
